Welcome to the Montana VINELink website.

VINE provides crime victims and other members of the public a simple, free, confidential way to obtain information about an offender's current location and custody status, and register to be notified electronically when changes occur.

Victims in Montana have the right to this information but it is not automatic: you must register for VINE on this website, by phoning the VINE call center at (800) 456-3076 or by using our free mobile app.  You may also call the Montana Department of Corrections (MDOC) victim programs manager for assistance with registration.

VINE is available every day of the year. VINE tracks adult offenders under MDOC supervision in state prisons and in community placements such as probation and parole, drug and alcohol treatment programs, and prerelease centers.

ANOTHER WAY TO REGISTER:
If you are a direct victim of the crime for which the offender is currently serving a sentence, we invite you also to register for notification through MDOC prison records in addition to VINE. Direct victims include (1) those who were themselves injured or sustained personal property loss, and (2) parents, children and siblings of homicide victims. A parent or guardian may register on behalf of a direct minor victim. NOTE: Due to extreme safety issues, we will consider on a case-by-case basis MDOC registration requests from those who have been victimized by domestic violence or stalking even if the offender involved was not convicted of these offenses but is serving time for something else. All other MDOC registration requests will be denied.

ONCE AGAIN, ANYONE WHO WISHES TO KEEP TRACK OF AN OFFENDER IS WELCOME TO REGISTER WITH VINE BUT MDOC REGISTRATION IS RESTRICTED AS EXPLAINED ABOVE.

If you have questions, call the MDOC victim programs manager at (888) 223-6332.
