WI-VINE County Jails/VPO Vine Protective Order Resources
Welcome to the WI-VINE homepage, Wisconsin Victim Information and Notification Everyday. Here you will find online resources for:

- crime victims and the public to access information about offenders in the custody of the County Sheriff and the ability to register to receive an automated notification if the status of the offender changes; and

- petitioners to access information about their temporary restraining order or injunction and the ability to register to receive an automated notification when the temporary restraining order has been served by law enforcement or when firearms have been surrendered to local law enforcement following issuance of an injunction.

Victims, law enforcement and the public can register for automated notification via WI-VINE (Victim Information & Notification Everyday) by calling toll-free, 1-888-944-8463 or online at link.(click on the OFFENDER icon at the left of the screen). You will be able to see the custody status of an offender or defendant and, if they are in custody at the county jail, register to receive automated telephone notification and/or email notification when there is a change in the custody status. The WISCONSIN VINE service is anonymous and confidential.

Wisconsin has three types of civil orders of protection, commonly referred to as restraining orders: domestic abuse, harassment, and vulnerable adult. Petitioners, (persons seeking a restraining order) can register for automated notification of when a temporary restraining order (TRO) has been served or firearms have been surrendered. They can seek this information or register via VPO (VINE Protective Order) by calling toll-free at 1-855-948-7648 or on this website by clicking on the PROTECTIVE ORDER icon at the left of the screen.

You can search for your restraining order using the 12 digit court case number and the respondent's full name. Make sure you are spelling the name the same way it is spelled in Wisconsin Circuit Court Access (formerly CCAP) at: You will then be able to register to receive notification. Please note that notification is only generated when TROs are served or firearms are collected by law enforcement and not private process servers or third parties.

Many local domestic violence or sexual assault victim advocates provide assistance in obtaining a restraining order. You can search for resources in your county at the End Domestic Violence WI and/or WCASA web sites in the resource list below. VINE and VPO services are designed to empower and protect crime victims, improve personal and public safety and assist corrections, law enforcement and victim service providers. WI VINE is provided by your County Sheriff and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections maintains a public website where anyone can search to view the status and location of an offender. Please note that the offender's photo will automatically appear on this site. To search for an offender, click on the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Offender Locator link,

Crime victims can register with the Department's Office of Victim Services and Programs to receive further information about the offender that committed a crime against them. Victims can receive notification via U.S. Mail or a confidential message center for certain types of offender status changes such as release, end of supervision, and more. If you are a crime victim and would like to receive notification about the offender, please contact your county Victim Witness office or call the DOC Office of Victim Services and Programs at 1-800-947-5777. Contact information for county victim witness offices, as well as other helpful services for crime victims/survivors can be accessed online at
